Creating structured, accessible content is the cornerstone of good design. In this interactive workshop, you'll learn basic steps that you can take to assure that your Microsoft Word documents are made accessible from the start. Bring a course syllabus or other document to work on during the workshop. Participants will walk away with a usable Word Accessibility Checklist. Topics covered will include:
- Using the Word Accessibility Checker
- How to use Styles to create nested heading structures
- Why using bulleted lists boosts document accessibility
- The importance of left aligning text
- Creating descriptive, semantic links vs. just using URLs
