Full course description
ICD is designed to guide instructors in building high-quality online courses. Over the first four weeks, participants will engage in activities and assignments designed to guide the online course development process. We will explore key e-learning design principles and demonstrate core functions of the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Participants will also be introduced to various instructional technologies and best practices for ensuring online courses are engaging, accessible, and aligned with intended goals, objectives, assessments, and institutional policies.
This five-week asynchronous course offers flexibility in completion. While participants will work through weekly structured learning modules, there are no set meeting times. This enables participants to access and complete course requirements at a pace that best fits their schedules. At the conclusion of ICD, participants will have created essential components for an online course, including clearly defined learning objectives, a syllabus, and a complete set of course materials for one instructional module.
