Introduction to Hippotherapy

-Explain what hippotherapy is and its indications as a treatment tool for physical therapy intervention
-Discuss safety considerations, precautions, and contraindications of utilizing this strategy
-Identify appropriate patient populations and what to look for in an equine partner.
-Compare and contrast the differences between hippotherapy and therapeutic riding
-Assess both human and equine movement patterns and begin learning how equine movement can impact each patient
-Understand firsthand equine movement patterns, influences in all 3 planes of motion, and A/P, transverse rotational plane dominance in our equine partners.
