From Theory to Practice: Designing Your Own Community-Engaged Course

This workshop will focus on taking the content learned in the last workshop and putting it into motion. Specifically, participants will develop/revise their own community-engaged course, with time provided to identify possible community partners, create/revise a community-engaged learning syllabus, and consider appropriate and meaningful assessment strategies.

At the end of the workshop, participants should, among other things, have...

1. identified potential partners for their community-engaged work
2. created/revised a syllabus for use in a course that has community-engagement as a core component
3. considered appropriate and meaningful assessment strategies for use in a course that has community-engaged as a core component

Please note: This face-to-face workshop will be held on September 27, 2022, from 4-7 pm in the Michigan Rooms. Participants of this workshop will have access to a Canvas Catalog course companion through December 31, 2022.
